Tom Taylor, MSW is gifted, caring, and dedicated. He has studied personally with me for 15 years and is a master at using Brainspotting with trauma and all other psychological conditions. Anyone who sees him will be fortunate indeed.

My philosophy on service and healing is reflected in this oil painting I created in 2008. The three hats are from organizations I served with: The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, Lutheran Disaster Response of New York (LDRNY), and the World Trade Center Tribute Center. The brown teddy bear with a tee shirt is from the North Bellmore Fire Department, where I served as the chaplain (1992-2008). The bears were given to young children in ambulance rides to the hospital. The pointer and the headphones on the bear symbolize the tools used in Brainspotting. The white bear with the red bow was given to me by a 9/11 client after we worked together for almost three years; she had severe traumatic stress going back to childhood during WW2 and was triggered by the terrorist attacks on 9/11. The tear in the bear’s left eye symbolizes the accumulated grief of clients I journeyed with and from this pastoral counselor, too.

When you come to me for pastoral counseling, I will do everything I can to always be present with you, listen to you actively, and do my best to stay focused on what you want to work on and process. My mentor and teacher, Dr. David Grand, always says, “The client knows everything. The therapist knows nothing.” That is to say that the process in pastoral counseling is your process and agenda, not mine. The best way I can help you is through the wonderful tool of Brainspotting. I am here to serve, be on the journey with you, and support you in your capacity to heal.
